One of the best pianist and composer of the international music scene, Mastrini came to prominence for his astonishing ability to play famous classical masterpieces back to front.
His musical creativity has its roots in Umbria where he lives, far away from the frantic rhythms of life. His compositions are able to link traditional with new contemporary classical music, and many of his works are minimalist in their composition. He is also the only pianist in the world that can play backwards from the end to the beginning of the score, which has gained him great attention and popularity among international media.
