La Mafia Uccide Solo d'Estate (The Mafia Kills Only in Summer) – Screening – FREE EVENT

With the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic

Inspired by real events, La Mafia Uccide Solo d'Estate (The Mafia Kills Only in Summer) is a black comedy about the history of Sicily from 1970s to 1990s; the movie closes the programme of the Italian Language Week 2017.

The movie takes place in Palermo and it follows the story of the young Arturo Giammarresi, who wishes to become a journalist and has loved Flora since he was ten years old. His awkward attempts to conquer her heart run parallel to his (and his city's) slow realisation of the existence of Cosa Nostra (the Sicilian Mafia). In the end, the movie is mostly a homage paid to the policemen and the magistrates who fought and gave their lives between the late 1970s and 1992, heroes of legality that were martyred in the attempt to dismantle the Sicilian Mafia.

Directed by Pif (as Pierfrancesco Diliberto), 2013, 90 min.

Film in Italian with English subtitles.

Screening not suitable for young persons and children (category IIB).

100 seats. First come, first served. No online registration.
